There is a saying that goes with anyone who works with wildlife, it goes like this “when dealing with wild animals in some way or another it more than likely ends in heartbreak.” This is the hardest pill to swallow in the line of work we do! The truth is nature is harsh, and we have no control over what will happen as much as we try to protect the animals that come into our care and change our lives, we really are powerless, other than hope and to enjoy every single moment along the way for we never know what lies in the path ahead! . . . @victoriafallswildlifetrust suffered a huge loss recently of their incredible Sylvester the Cheetah, the lives he touched and changed are countless. I had the privilege on a few occasions to spend time with this majestic cat, but the best had to be the day we first met, out on a bushwalk in 2013! You will be missed by so many but your memories shall never fade! Sending so much love to all his handlers, carers and supporters!❤️ . . . Sylvester was rescued after his mother was killed by lions. He was imprinted on humans from a very young age and release back into the Wild was not a viable option. Έχει στήσει από το 2014 ένα καταφύγιο ζώων στη Ζιμπάμπουε και το Free to be Wild κάνει σήμερα πολύ καλή δουλειά, καθώς εκείνη ερωτεύτηκε λέει το είδος.
Είναι μάλιστα το μόνο εξειδικευμένο για μπαμπουίνους και πρωτεύοντα καταφύγιο άγριας ζωής της Ζιμπάμπουε, κι έτσι το έργο της έχει και μεγάλο αντίκτυπο στην περιοχή…
