Η απίστευτη μεταμόρφωση 40χρονου σε λιγότερο από μισό χρόνο

Έγινε πραγματικά αγνώριστος

Μπορεί να πιστεύεις ότι είναι δύσκολο και πολύ χρονοβόρο να αλλάξεις το σώμα σου και από εκεί που είχες παραπάνω κιλά να αποκτήσεις κοιλιακούς και γραμμωμένη πλάτη. Ένας 40χρονος μπαμπάς όμως σου αποδεικνύει ότι τίποτα δεν είναι ακατόρθωτο αρκεί να το θέλεις πραγματικά.

Ο λόγος για τον Jeremiah Peterson, ο οποίος κατάφερε να χάσει σχεδόν 42 κιλά μέσα σε μόλις 150 ημέρες και να αποκτήσει ένα σώμα τόσο γυμνασμένο όσο εκείνα που έχουν οι αθλητές. Πριν από μερικά χρόνια και ενώ είχε πάει για πεζοπορία στο βουνό μαζί με την οικογένεια του αντιμετώπισε το πρώτο πρόβλημα υγείας του εξαιτίας του βάρους του, αφού τότε ζύγιζε 133 κιλά. Όπως εξομολογήθηκε σε συνέντευξη του, κοιτούσε τον εαυτό του στον καθρέφτη και σκεφτόταν ότι πρέπει να είναι υγιής για την οικογένεια του και για να μπορεί να ανταποκριθεί στις ευθύνες του στην ζωή. Έτσι λοιπόν πήρε απόφαση την μεγάλη αλλαγή για τον εαυτό του.

The truth of the matter is we are in a place of transformation. Transforming is nothing to be ashamed of. Because if we are not in a place of transition...Then we are standing still. Like our feet are plastered to a singular place.That place of standing still isn’t in quiet reflection either. If you don’t change the next 5 years of your life will likely be exactly like the last 5 years! YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE! Make a choice to change something RIGHT NOW! You don’t like your body, make a change. Throw away the junk food. The fact that you are not happy has NOTHING to do with what you have or do not have. You are unhappy because your life doesn’t match the way you think it should be. You have an idea of what you and your life should be like... If I can do it, or someone else can do you YOU CAN TOO!!! Do something NOW that confirms in your head and your heart that you mean business! Quit lying to yourself. Quit short changing yourself. DO SOMETHING NOW!!!

Τα απίστευτα αποτελέσματα της προσπάθειας του υπάρχουν στο Instagram αφού ο ίδιος έχει φροντίσει να ανεβάσει φωτογραφίες από το δικό του πριν και μετά. Επιπλέον ο 40χρονος έχει και την δική του ιστοσελίδα μέσα από την οποία προτρέπει τον κόσμο να αγαπήσει την άσκηση και την υγιεινή διατροφή, ενώ αναφέρει χαρακτηριστικά ότι θέλει να είναι σε φόρμα για να μπορεί να είναι παραγωγικός στη δουλειά του, ώστε να μπορεί να παρέχει τα πάντα στην οικογένεια του και να είναι ένας καλό γονιός.

WHAT IS YOUR WHY? I want to get into shape because I don’t have enough energy to be productive at work. I want to be productive at work because  it’s important to provide for my family. I want to provide for my family because being a great parent is rewarding. I want to be an amazing parent because I believe it’s part of leading a good life. My family has and always will be my why. Finding your reason why is essential if you want to achieve success in life. If you don’t have a strong reason behind your actions you are less likely to get the results. Your why will pull you up when you feel like you don’t have the strength anymore. Your why will keep you fighting when everyone else thinks you are down for the count. Who are you fighting for? WHAT GETS YOU OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING AND WHAT KEEPS YOU UP AT NIGHT? WHAT EXCITES YOU? Is your purpose your family? Is it to prove the doubters wrong? Or is it to prove it to yourself that you can do it? Your purpose will always be what lights that fire in you. I WILL DO THIS. NO MATTER WHAT! MY FAMILY IS COUNTING ON ME!

Όσον αφορά τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο, ο Peterson τον συμβουλεύει να βρει πρώτα τον λόγο που θέλει να κάνει την οποιαδήποτε αλλαγή και μετά να ξεκινήσει την προσπάθεια του για αυτό, γιατί αυτό θα αποτελέσει το μεγαλύτερο κίνητρο για να επιτύχει τον στόχο του.

At some point you decided to let someone cut in front of you. At some point in your life you decided you didn’t need to win the race anymore. At some point in your life you decided you didn’t have to be the star student. At some point YOU DECIDED that you were AVERAGE.... These thoughts are not true! WHY SHOULD WE NEVER GIVE UP? We all feel like giving up, at some point in our lives, in the various journeys that we undertake. Sometimes we give up even before we start. And at other times, most crucially, we tend to give up just before we are about to make a huge break-through. Today is hard, tomorrow will be worse, but the day after tomorrow could be the day you start to win. So stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn. Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you. No matter what you do in life to stay focused and move forward on your path. The one thing that will keep you going to the end is by doing the work and never giving up.

I think my face in the second picture explains exactly what I was thinking. I even surprised myself with what I accomplished in 150 Days!!! YES, 150 DAY’S!!! Everyone has stretches of time where they don’t see a ton of change. In all areas of life. But you keep doing it. Day after day. You keep going. You don’t give up when you don’t see immediate results. Because when you trust the process... YOU WILL have days where you wake up and even surprise yourself. Live for those moments. Do the work. Are you wanting to go from being overweight to ripped tomorrow or next week or even next month? It’s not going to happen. There is no overnight success!!! It’s getting a little bit better then you were the day before. Then all those little bit better days add up to a whole lot over time. No one can create what you know deep down inside that you truly are. You have to work for it. You have to work for it through trials, hard times and impossible times. Success isn’t built on success. Success is built on failure. Learning from your failures. Not being afraid of your own failures, shortcomings and face plants. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO STARE YOUR WEAKNESSES IN THE FACE. It’s about standing when you want to sit. It’s about moving when you want to stay. It’s about fighting when you want to give up. Growth, change and success come from a lot of discomfort and pain. But I promise you. Each time after agonizing, can’t go any more moments, stretches and seemingly never ending fights... Victory is yours. Each victory you give yourself tastes better and better.
